the real fear of being seen

The “fear of being seen” is something that’s talked about over and over again in the personal development and entrepreneurship world.

And for good reason — it plays a huge role in the process of transformation and living out your purpose. It comes up with all of my clients, and I’ve experienced it myself many times.

But over time, what I’ve come to realize is that the fear of being seen is really the fear of NOT being seen…

It’s the fear of being perceived incorrectly, judged as different than you feel and know yourself to be. The worry that someone will get the wrong impression.

And it makes sense that we’d fear that. We are biologically wired to want to fit into the group for our survival.

But the alternative — being seen for who you ACTUALLY are, is nothing to be afraid of.

In fact, it is one of the most incredible, affirming, magical experiences you can have as a human being.

When you are recognized for your innate gifts, your true energy, the soul of you, something important is liberated. There is nothing to fake, nothing to pretend, no image to manipulate. It is truly a magnetic and joyful feeling.

And the only way to feel this feeling, is to allow yourself to be seen — for who you REALLY are.

How do you do this?

Recognize yourself first.

And then what?

Recognize yourself first.

How about after that?

Recognize yourself first.

Acknowledge how f*cking powerful you are.

Celebrate your talents, the gifts that come to you so effortlessly. Your zone of genius. OWN these things.

Claim the power in who you be.

I know the bitterness and frustration that comes with feeling unseen and unrecognized. And I know that the only way out is to stop waiting for other people to see you and to start seeing yourself.

And not with judgement, not through the lens of constant self-improvement, but with real, objective and loving acknowledgment of the incredible, divine force that you are.
